There is nothing beautiful in this world. It is the lust of man that lends beauty to a thing he desires. No sooner the desire is met, then it loses its beauty also. Children are never ugly. Because they are free from any desire. In this world every thing is being worn out and destroyed. Will the beauty queen of this year, also get the same honour next year also? Never! Because, everything is waning and wearing out. How long one will remain world champion? One day when the physical strength is lost, there will be no difference between that world champion and an ordinary person. Both find themselves old and weak.
The sum and substance of the narrative is this that nothing in this world can be called an achievement, still man tries to attain them through any means fair or foul. No perishable thing can ensure a safe present and future. As a result of the achievement man becomes egoist and loses evern his natural simplicity and modesty and with this his all labour is lost. Finally as a result of this mundane life of deceit and hypocrisy he gets nothing except unhappiness and repentence.
Bhisma was lying on the bed of arrows, his body was suffering with intolerable pain but looking for right time he was obliged to suffer that pain. In such condition, his father Shantanu came to meet him. He bowed low before Bhisma and asked for his pardon. Bhisma stopped him saying why was he doing so and putting him to shame. Shantanu said, my son! I am infact responsible too put you in this condition. Had I not wished for Satyawati you would not have taken this vow to lead a life of a celibate a bachelor, not this Hastinapur would have gone out from your hands. You were the heir apparent of Hastinapur. It would have remained safe under you and you would not have suffered this condition. My son, I am responsible to put you in this condition. I am asking for your pardon for my mistake. In the history of the Bharat dynasty this is the first instance when a father has to ask his son to pardon him for his mistake.
Seer Vyas wants to give this message to all fathers, leaders and representatives of people in society through Shantanu that their mistakes make their heirs and society suffer. Each father is responsible for the souls of their sons, where ever and in whatever forms they be. Each father nominates his heir apparent like kings for the safety and security of his property, but he never thought that even palaces and treasuries are not safe and they can be seen today as relics. Then, what do we have anything extra or other than these palaces, and how far they can remain safe. Emperor Ashok acquainted his son and dought first with the realities of this life and world and thus showing them the real course of salvation earned the place of honour of being their true well-wisher. at the same he also earned the honour posthumously for his royal insignia to be adopted as national symbol of independent India.
Is man feeling safe, satisfied and happy today breaking the norms prescribed by ancient seer and saints? A thought or action which is afflicting. How can it be called good and noble. Can a man who is heading towards sorrow and suffering call himself noble and virtuous. Is he not defiling these words?
Just think of one who regards himself as a great scholar and one who as a tribes man living in forest and is totally illiterate, both are advancing towards sorrow and unhappiness. Both will get nothing but sorrow in the last hours of life, both have nothing everlasting with them.
All intellectuals are interpreting the meaning of scriptures, which gives different meanings. No one scholar agrees with the other. This is the reason that the need of interpretation of the original scripture is felt again. The enlightened who realised the truth through meditation and renunciation and asked people to follow that course and seek peace, happiness for ever, the same truth is being presented in perverted and distorted forms by the so called educated persons displaying nothing but indulgence in intellectual pastime and acrobatics. They are causing a great harm and are responsible for social and spiritual loss of the society.
The truth is one, the 'supreme'. Each great thinker of the world experienced the same truth and made his life meaningful and also of others. The aim and object of all saints and enlightened persons has been the same that some-how man should conquer his mind along with his senses and become completely free from thoughts and achieve the reality and become an ideal for others to follow. His life should become effulgent like sun and take this world far away from darkness, so that this darkness does not returns again in his life. This has been the endeavour of noble souls and of the scriptures written by them. But all the scriptures became victims of intellectual fever and fervour which have brought in perversions in the society, which made man look at the truth also differently.
This tendency led to fasten people in the confines of superiority and inferiority, leaving aside to know what is the truth. Thus the great thought were blunted and compelled man to live in a helpless, miserable state.
All the scriptures which speak about God and his perception, are not simply means of recreation to talk upon or discus about. Their creation does not aim to earn just some name or fame in the society, rather they are the expression of the loftiest qualities and attainment of humanity, which help man not only to get rid of all problems in life but shows to millions others the way to realise the supreme.
All religious organisations in the world today are connected with some or the other scripture or saint. All the organisation also seen to move ahead on a course full of unhappiness and degeneration, while all scriptures and enlightened sages and saints refuse inhuman activities and narrow mindedness spread in the society at present, and inspire mankind for material and spiritual prosperity and development. Even the followers of such enlightened saints dont approve of such conservative narrow consideration which give rise to unhappiness and problems.
Acceptance of any social conservatism and also accept principles of an enlightened sage can not be possible at the same time. You just imagine if some loses his dear and near one and he is not traced for years, then how much restless he feels. If some one brings any message about him he meets him in great hurry and treats him with love and warmth irrespective of his caste, religion dress or appearance. How much emotional he becomes listening him. Without any thought he at once sets out to meet him. Had he thought about his dress, appearance and other things, he might have never reached to his loving and dear one. He could have suffered infinitely but he could have never reached and found him without proper address and clue.
A person who has lost his only son and without him he can not live, gets a message from an unknown person about his whereabouts would he think about that person's caste, religion or social standing. Even if he be in rags, and dirty, would he hate him? would he ask him his caste or creed. Instead he would at once have love and respect for him. Similarly the true devotees of God who wants to deliver never spread hatred in society and so the sees of conflicts and distinction. Instead they give such a message to the society that may help develop humanity and the improvement of spiritual powers and values one who loves humanity is the true devotee of God and a true lover of God alone is true spiritual person. Such people are above conservative thoughts and narrow-mindedness.
You must have viewed many religious serial on TV. Whenever there comes any scene about deities and demons. The demons are shown wearing horns on their heads. They are used by our seers in scriptures as symbols of animal nature and tendencies, to show their strength and fighting nature. This demonic tendency and nature simply represent their destructive capacity. The role of deities is altogether different. It is to keep and maintain peace, happiness and fraternity and these qualities are inspired by superior qualities of humanity.
Once deities and demons went ot the God Vishnu to know who is superior. God Vishnu told them that he would give his decision next day during feast. Next day all were present on the occasion. Deities and demons took their places and sat down in their order. The plates were placed and food was served. God Vishnu then asked them to take their food but without twisting elbow., one who does so is superior.
The demons began to look at other on listening this condition, and sat hours together. But deities placed their plates in front of each other and began to feed each other. Seeing this the demons were very much ashamed and began to leave the place quietly. The God called them and said, now you must have realised who is truly superior. You don't have unity because of pride and therefore you are deprived of nobility. The deities have it and so they are noble and superior. Those who sow the seeds of fraternity are always superior. This has been the message of Indian seer to all mankind.
