PREFACE
Brotheren,
There are innumerable species in this world small and large. All are undergoing the fruits of their actions. This is a unique system of the supreme. All enlightened seers of their times, call them messengers, mendicants, apostles or enlightened sages opened up a clear and safe road for all living beings to come out of grim tragedy, putting an end to the everlasting transmigration and thus pulling out the society from the quagmire of customs. traditions and wrong principles prevalent in the contemporary system. This was the passage that led to immortality. This order is continued since time immemorial. But the society repeatedly got ensnared in false, hypothetical principles after the enlightened sages left this world, and the society was shrunk once again in different small sects of opinions, beliefs and customs and traditions. These conservative sects and organizations out of ignorance and nescience became sworn enemies of each other. Some say that the God exists in each and every particle, while others say that to hurt anyone by word, thought or actions is violence. The entrance of microbes in body is violence. Some are oblivious in observance of fast and rituals while others undertaking pilgrimages and some others still are busy in performing rituals.
One who is born any where but observed the tradition meticulously till his last breath but could not get rid of passion anger, allurement, as a result of which the living being has to travel through different infernal life forms. Each wrong tradition breeds sorrow and problems.
When the God/Allah is present in each particle and atom then who do you blame and what for? Causing mother throes of delivery is sin or virtue, violence or nonviolence. Innumerable germs are crushed with sugarcane in crushing mill. From the same sugar different sweetmeats are prepared and use them even in fasting. They eat these sweet meats but not the food. A fly sitting on filth flies and sits on our body, still we remain undefiled. While heating butter, countless bacteria get cooked in it. A living being small or large has flesh. In butter(Ghee) you cook a fly or a chicken, both have souls. In the same way the society entangled in meditation, devotion and Yog and such wrong traditions was shown the right path by the enlightened sages.
Every living being wants happiness, but the happiness is possible only through the human body. So long there lasts even a single Sanskaar (impression), one has to go in the womb of a mother. With the obliteration of the last impression the assimilation of conscience with its causal form alone can relieve him from the cycle of birth and death. The extermination of impressions is possible only through the service of enlightened Sadguru and chanting of name with unflinching faith, and its termination in the climax of devotion.
Faithful service and chanting of name, devotion shoots forth in heart, which is called the awakening of meditation or God becoming the charioteer of sadhak(seeker) All this is , however, possible only when some God like Sadguru becomes available. After meditation is awakened , under the guidance of God or Sadguru the Sadhak (seeker) enters his original source again.
There are many ways of God to make one understand but there are four ways of awakening of experience, such as Swapna Sura, Sthool sura, Sushupti Sura, and Samsura. The first two experiences are awakened after serving for sometime with chanting of Om. The remaining two are possible through complete restraint of mind and senses.
Therefore for understanding of meditation some accomplished enlightened sage is essential. Without following this course, no one has conquered sorrow nor it is possible in future. Free from any bias the reality and truth get their due place in the heart, as a result of which man attains state of Buddhatwa.
Extracting the essence only partly from the discourses of the most revered Gurudev Bhagwan this immortal message is conveyed under the tittle ‘Manimala’ (the string of beads) through couplets and a questionnaire under the tittle of ‘Suddhatrayee’ is an humble offering in the service ot the revered Gurudev. Those who are curious will get confidence to come out from confusion on many issues. With this hope this small endeavour is before you in the book form.
The knowledgeable readers will accept it as their own creation. With this hope
The religion of all human beings is one. All men are one the God of the whole world is one, the way to attain the God is one, the place to attain him is one ‘the heart’. out of these if there is any duality then it is surely the cause of his unhappiness and degeneration.
In the world a man is born in some tradition or the other. Some traditions are exclusive to the contemporary society and are localized in nature and useful only to that society. However, they also change according to the time. But, some principles and doctrines which are based on scriptures are changeless and of everlasting nature. Such principles are of everlasting value and nature and are of human good. These principles originally established by ancient scriptures can not be comprehended by intellect. The result to understand and interpret them at rational level are before the world i.e. the mutual split and divisions in mankind.
Intellectuals are interpreting scriptures according to their intellectual capacity. That is why we have different interpretations of ancient texts and scriptures. No two so called wise men seem to agree. This nececiates new interpretation again of the same text.
The truth, that the enlightened sages tried to seek and comprehend with life time of sacrifice, renunciation penance and meditation the truth that alone can redeem man from the unhappiness and sorrow of the cycle of birth and death, the so called intellectuals for sheer intellectual indulgence and mental gymnastics have interpreted these texts and caused an irreparable loss socially and spiritually.
All animals, birds and other life forms in this world have a uniformity in their language, behavior and habits. The diversity exists only in human beings. An animal or a bird in India will have the same behaviors food habits any where in the wold. Its not that a lion in India is violent and carnivorous while in some other part of the world nonviolent or herbivorous. It is only man who creates difference and diversities in and outside his life. Those differences in time become the sole cause of hostilities unhappiness and degeneration. But, one who has taken to the cause of spirituality and has experienced it has always said and agreed with the truth which was uttered by ancient seers million of years ago. Yam, Niyam, Sanyam (restraint) have been the principal doctrines of realizing this truth ever since time immemorial. This has been upheld and established by every enlightened sage every where irrespective of scriptures.
Just as the language of the birds and animals all over this earth is the same, there life is also free from differences. similarly an enlightened sage who has experienced God has unanimity in his words and principles irrespective of the place of his birth, language or dharma. Their principles are free from any differences and discords.
The Truth after all is one, the supreme God. Each thinker or enlightened sage of the world experienced fulfillment in his life and tried others to follow the same course in life to experience the fulfilment. All enlightened persons had one common intention that somehow man should be able to exercise restraint on his senses and mind free from any thoughts, realise his true self and thus become an ideal character in society, whose thoughts and life are as brilliant as sun and who can dispel darkness of ignorance from his life for ever. This has always been the endeavour of such accomplished persons and of he theological texts they had written. But, all such texts unfortunately become the sources of intellectual hysteria, which brought in perversities of various kinds in society. This made man take even the truth differently according to his convenience and expediency.
This led man in the course of time further away from truth and brought in many different traditions. These traditions in turn and with the passage of time began to be accepted as castes and sects. Thus by such wrong and convenient interpretations of truth and theological texts man exposed his narrow selfish thoughts. The firm principles and convictions which keep man firm and stead fast on his duty and ay initially seem difficult and impractical, in long term keep our future safe and secured.
The roads passing through rocky terrain are stronger and safer than the roads constructed on soft ground. One can not be steadfast and firm about his principles unless he is conscious of his responsibilities. unless austere in practice no principles and theory can be of any good to mankind. Where there is any space for animosity, acrimony, descent, fear and misunderstanding, it is better to show indifference for them; in the larger interest of humanity. The people should be supportive and appreciate efforts of such steadfast principles representatives in society.
First, we will have to give up such principles and rules which make the society conservative, and dogmatic. The wall of any kind of distinctions will make the society conservative leading to conflicts and mutual hatred and violence, which will deprive man of peace and happiness.
Traditions always create differences and conflicts while dharma always unites. Spiritual thoughts only can make human relations amicable and happy. What is imperative today is to understand the real nature of dharma and understand the difference between dharma and traditions. All enlightened, noble souls took to this grand yoga-path, knowing divine powers. Any one, anywhere on the face of this earth, regarding any such enlightened sage as his ideal of life can redeem himself from all sorrow, unhappiness and problems of life.
All the organizations in the world are working as groups organized in the name of some enlightened person, and started practising his principles and prescribed norms of conduct and behavior, but he could not grasp the sage’s intrinsic spiritual endeavour and achievement. Therefore, the differences of opinions and view points are natural in changed time and circumstances.
Thus man got coffined in narrow, conservative groups and sects because he failed to look these sources norms and regulatory instructions as the fundamental principles of the enlightened sage. With the passage of time this conservative society got split in small sects. religions and castes, which began treating each other as inferior, lowly and hostile, and started imposing their principles a faith on others by force and fighting. At present we see its result widely visible in different parts of the world.
Those who are trying to impose their principles through intimidation, terror and conspiracy should be questioned if their principles and thoughts they want to impose on other groups, have made them and their society free from tensions, unhappiness and leading a life of peace and contentment free from tensions. If not then what do they intend and what they can give to others by imposing their thoughts and principles on others.
They should know that all social principles and theories have resulted only in aggravating miseries and unhappiness of mankind. The unity and love lost among human community at large is because of the enlightened sages who kept mankind united by their altruistic principles and thoughts of universal fraternity. They never wished that people fight among themselves and lose peace, prosperity and happiness.
Every enlightened sage of the world had only one aim, happiness and peace, which can not be achieved with enjoyment and comforts of life.
All enlightened sages were born in some social system practising certain traditions. They contemplated seriosly on its impact on them, detached themselves from it and tried to perceive, the truth tangibly and become one with that everlasting truth, kept themselves free from all traditions, problems, woes and worries.
Each enlightened sage on realization of the truth exhorted all peoples of the world to be benefitted by this experience. At the same time in order to keep the then disintegrated society in some sort of order and system, formulated some rules and principles so as to keep man away from indulging only in comforts and luxuries in which there is nothing to gain truth achieves happiness and peace where there is total absence of human frailties.
Everything of this world and even the most luxurious experiences, some day become the cause of unhappiness. To be free from all these sorrows and problems is possible only with the perception of God. So long man is denied the divine knowledge till then it is not possible to become free form sorrows. The internal disorders instigate one towards the material world. With the divine knowledge these disorders are totally uprooted.
The power of God is all pervasive, but all seekers have experienced this power in their heart with the help of the spiritual master. This truth has been universally accepted by every enlightened sage of the world. Cheating and fighting each other for the sake of material pleasures is foolishness, it is the cause of sorrow, and unhappiness. Their total elimination is the greatest achievement of the human body. No enlightened sage has ever denied this truth.
“Asurya naam te loka andhen tamsavratah,
taste pretyabhigachanti ye, ke chatm hano janah.” (Shukla Yajurved)
Those who did not try to seek the deliverance of the soul practising yog and perceiving the God. Such persons who kill their soul in this way go to the realm of demons, which is encompassed by darkness and sorrow. Men may go on doing anything in the name of performing good deeds, but so long you do not take to the path of perceiving the God and become one with him till then this demon realm is reserved. Where should we seek that? In answer to this question they reply that this God dwells in the heart of every living being. The enlightened sages have perceived him through their most subtle intellect. This is the experience of ancient Vedic seers. Any one can perceive that God through such accomplished sages. The method to perceive God in the world is only one and the same, which can be learnt from enlightened sages only. So the Vedic seers invoked seekers to attain this knowledge from such sages only who are grounded in Vedic knowledge and are themselves established in Braham. This knowledge alone can ensure perception of God and freedom from all sorrows.
That enlightened sage alone will help you perceive that God who is seated in the heart. There is no other way to get redeemed from sorrow and fear of death. So long such attained (Brahmanisth) do not meet, different principles, and theories in the name of revelation of God will continue to confuse and misguide.
Yesh sarveshu bhooteshu gudoaatma na prakashyate,
drashyate twagrayaya buddhaya soochmaya soochmdarshibhih. (Atharv Ved)
Taddhigyanarth sa gurumevabhi gachaet samitpanih shrotriya brahmnistham,
vedahmetam prusham mahantmadityavarn tamsah parastat.
tamev viditwati mratumeti nanyah pantha vidhtenay. (Yajurved Ch 31/18)
Many scholars after studying all philosophical and metaphysical scriptures mistake this for self realization. Vedic seers are of the opinion that even the most incisive intellectual person can not attain God by logical reasoning. He can not attain by flowery, embellished, ornamental language also. His (God’s) realization is possible only in pure flawless mind free from any disorder. And, the means to make mind free from any disorders, is with the spiritual master only. If it is not so then the study of all scriptures and Vedas is in vain. can any person ever be cured only by learning the names of medicines.
Richo achare parme vyoman,Yasmin deva adhik vishwe nisheduh,
yastam na ved kimracha karishyati, ya it tad vidust ime samasate. (rigved mandal)
Nayaatma pravchanen labhyo na medhya na bahuna shruten,
yamevaish vradute ten labhyastasyesh aatma vivrdute tanu swaam. (Kathopnishad, Krashn yajurved)
Like vedic seers Bhagwan Ram also with the help of Vishwmitra, in the climax state of yoga, addressing the people of Ayodhya said that this human body which is difficult even for Gods is not given to man just to enjoy sensuous pleasures, but it is a great means of emancipation of soul. If some one by his ordained action could achieve even enjoy the pleasures of the world still it does not make any difference. These pleasures are ephemeral and will become the reason of sorrow. King Nahush even after occupying Indra’s throne had to take birth in the form of a boa.
The God has given this human body as his grace to taste nectar. Those who do not endeavour to attain God through this human body are killers of soul and I am the death for them. Those who kill their soul are assigned to lowly birth forms.
“Bade bhagya Manush tan pawa, sur durlabh sadgranthin gawa,
Sadhan dhaam mochh kar dwaara, paye na jehi parlok sudhara”
“So paratra dukh pawai, shir dhun dhun pachtai,
kalahi karmahi eshwarahi, mithya dosh lagaye.”
“Jo na tarai bhavsaagar nar samaaj as paai,
te krat nindak mand mat aatmahan gati jaai.”
“Yahi tan kar fal vishay na bhaai, swargahu swalp anta dukhdai,
nar tan paai vishay mann dehi, palati sudha te sath vishlehi,
taji mam charan vishay mann raata, tinh kar kaal roop main tata.” (Ramcharit Manas)
Prime Yogi Bhagwan shiva said that this human body which is not easy even for deities, and which one gets as his fourtune and God’s grace man changes into misfortune and happiness never go together. That is why unhappiness in some or other form invariably exists in man’s life.
“Sunahu uma te log abhagi, Hari taj hohi vishay anuraagi”
Yogeshwar shri krishna in his eighth birth as God, making Arjun his medium, delivered an immortal message of emancipation for the entire humankind. He said Arjun pleasures arising from senses are the causes of different births causing unhappiness and sorrow. So long mind keeps entangled in sensuous pleasures, it continues creation of different birth forms. There is only one means to defend oneself. ‘Yagya’; restraining of thoughts arising with inhaling and exhaling of breath and only chanting of the name of God continues flowing perennially. In this state of complete restraint of thoughts the result of yagya the perception of the supreme, his tangible touch and assimilation, that yogi becomes free from all bonds of action like me. But many a Sadhak in return ask for pleasures. Arjun, they are sinners, they only accumulate sins and feed on sins only. Yogeshwar Sri Krishna said those who desire pleasures are sinners. Such people work only to satisfy their senses only by pleasures. Therefore Arjun, you should regard an enlightened sage as your ideal for the good of the people and for the emancipation of soul do your duty that is perform Yagya.
“Ye hi samsparsjaa bhogaa dukhyonya eva te,
aadhyantvantah kontey na teshu ramte budhaha.” (Geeta Ch. 5/22)
“yagya shistasinah santo muchyante sarvkilbisheh,
bhujjte te twagham paapa ye pachantyatmkaardaat. (Geeta Ch. 3/13)
“Na maam karmaani limpanti na me karm phale sprihaa,
iti maam yobhijaanaati karmbhir na sa badhyate.” (Geeta Ch. 4/14)Karmanaiva hi samsiddhim aasthitaa janakaadayah;
Lokasangraham evaapi sampashyan kartum arhasi.
Yadyad aacharati shreshthas tattadevetaro janah;
Sa yat pramaanam kurute lokas tad anuvartate.
Na me paarthaasti kartavyam trishu lokeshu kinchana;
Naanavaaptam avaaptavyam varta eva cha karmani.
Yogeshwar Shri Krishna said that the conduct and behavior of enlightened sages becomes a standard. bearer for the followers who emulate him as role-model. So, like seer Janak’s noble intention to become a role model, you perform this yagya of inhaling and exhaling of breath and attain the supreme state of accomplishment. Arjun, for me also there remains nothing to do. I have also attained this state, supreme accomplishment by performing this obligatory yagya, but for the well-being of my followers, I discharge my obligations and duty. Arjun he who does not behave according to the prescribed rules and principles ordained by Geeta and behave in an ariette manner, is a sinner, living in vain that is, his living is of no use
“Evam pravartitam chakram naanuvartayateeha yah;
Aghaayur indriyaaraamo mogham paartha sa jeevati. ”
Yogeshwar sri Krishna wants to say only this much that the sensual pleasures create birth forms only to suffer. Those who remain indulged in these sensual pleasures live in vain. As a result of Yog they are exterminated and the living being attains his supreme emancipation. The yogi free from all sins realizes his self. Three thousand years ago the founder of Parsian religion, Zarathustra after attainment of God, in his message to the entire mankind said that Ahoor Mazda (Vanquisher of Demons) is that fire in which all the actions of man, good and bad are burnt and the real nature is realized with complete freedom from sorrow and unhappiness. On attainment of Ahoor Mazda man snaps the chain of birth and death.
Bhagwan Mahaveer born in a royal family saw and experienced all possible pleasures and by his conduct and character like other enlightened sages, keeping himself away from them gave a message of emancipation of soul and of the attainment of God. As a result of Yog and severe mortification attained Kewal Gyan, which sage Patanjali earlier called as Kewalya state. He crossed over different stages of severe Yog and penance. At one stage of such penance, he kept standing at one spot for months together, that the creepers of the forest covered him and birds built their nests. many a such sages, born in royal family leading honorable life were humiliated and even wronged by uncivilized, untutored tribal people of the forest Though harassed and troubled by these people they remained pure forgiving and kind. These people sometime. would let loose the dogs, spit and would even urinate on him. This happened in his own kingdom of which he was himself the king one time. During his penance, his younger brother was the king. on his single instance the entire village and people could have been destroyed but instead he tolerated everything with remarkable fortitude and patience attained his goal of Kevalya Pad.
When he had left the royal family, he was warped in one cloth and had another piece to cover himself. During severe penance of six years these clothes were torn and were reduced to rags and fell down. Lost in meditation, he was totally unaware of this. At present we see his followers divided in different sects. With him what happened was natural. Being a recluse by nature he could not ask for anything, and thus attained his goal through meditation and hard penance in the solitude of forest. Today, his followers denounce any use of clothes from the very beginning. If by giving up clothes only the knowledge of the supreme(Kevalya) and riddance from sorrows is possible then all the birds and animal who wear no clothes and nomads, male or female receive this precious knowledge(Kewalya). But this is impossible. For total redemption from desires only through perfect discretions like Bhagwan Mahaveer suffering all sorts of troubles and problems, Kaiwalya can be attained. It is at this stage only all narrow considerations and false theories and traditions, sorrow and unhappiness and the cycle of birth and death come to cease completely.
Thousands of years before Bhagwaan Mahaveer, Bhagwan Rishabhdev had resorted to the same kind of severe penance which could establish him as the greatest ideal.
Bhagwan Buddha was also an heir apparent to a very prosperous empire. He thought in depth on the loss and gain in life and of its transitory nature. He experienced sorrow, helplessness every where from life in a palace to life in hutment. He decided to seek some way out for man from this state of helplessness and left the life of palatial pleasures and luxury to have an experience of reality in life, practising yog intensely became Bodhisatwa, and thus in very simple language he conveyed that knowledge. On relinquishing his palace he had exchanged his royal clothes with a tribal hunter. In five on six years when these clothes were torn and reduced to rags, he took out the red shroud from over the dead body of a woman and had covered himself with it. Through his yog and penance. he conveyed the message that clothes and other external objects have no special significance or contribution in restraining of mind. First, from Aalar Kalam and then from his second spiritual master Uddak Ramputra apperceived the process of restraining mind with absolute detachment from all objects till the attainment of thoughtless trance (Nirvichar Samadhi). There after absorbed in Dhyan Samadhi(trance) attained his goal and declared that tonight in the last quarter, I have achieved that everlasting essence, the truth, which was achieved by seers earlier. After complete success in his penance, he benefitted all human kind by his altruistic experience. Presently the followers of Buddha regard the uniformity of dress as the achievement of Yog Sadhana (practice). Bhagwan Buddhas laid greatest insistence and stress onthe restraint of mind. He told his father squarely and refused to sit in throne. He said, father! I don’t fear fire fanned by wind, I don’t fear either the naked sword of enemy as much as I fear my nimble mind. Today, we can hardly find one such among lacks of Bhikshus (Buddhist monk) who is constantly engaged in restraining his mind. Bhagwan Buddha by staying constantly in Samadhi(trance) gave man the means to relieve himself from all sorrows. So, he told not to waste time in adoring his corporeal body instead practise all the time remaining absorbed in Samadhi(trance). Without this there is no riddance from unhappiness. How can Buddhism be a separate creed when all enlightened sages have passed through a common process.
Jesus Christ also belonged to the tradition of Bhagwan Buddha. During his climax stage of Sadhana (practising virtue), satan took him to the mountain misleading him for forty days. He asked Jesus to salute him only once, I will make you the master of all the mines of diamond gold silver and other invaluable jewels and of this infinite store of riches. Jesus replied that the scriptures say ‘salute only the God’. Satan was defeated and left him alone. on receiving that divine knowledge Jesus propagated that message among people, which is found repeatedly in Bible.
once Jesus was giving a discourse to a very large crowd. Just then his father, mother, sister and brother arrived there. His disciples were very much pleased to meet them, and informed Jesus of their arrival, so that he may also be pleased meeting them after a long time. Jesus told them that he was speaking the truth one who follows the course to God alone is my brother or father, mother or sister. Each enlightened sage has accepted this truth that the God does talk with every seeker who follows the course of Yog after meeting the spiritual master. The seeker starts following the path shown by the enlightened. Jesus said the same thing, one who follows the commands of God on meeting some enlightened sage he will get the way to Sadhana(Yog). Following it the God will start giving directions. One who follows those direction is the brother of Jesus Christ. This was said by Ram to his devotees.
“Soi Sevak priyatam mam soi;
Mam anushashaasan mane koi” (Ramcharit Manas)
Jesus said to love your neighbour as you would like him to love you. Neighbour can be anyone. Once he washed the feet of his disciples saying if you wish to be great you become equally humble. Two thousands and five hundred year before, Yogeshwar sri Krishna collected the leaf plates after meal a gesture indicative of his greatness, set an example of humility of service before his followers. Keep yourself constantly engaged in your spiritual endeavour, thinking yourself to be the lowliest person. He asked his followers only to use only a smock and to keep one extra and no more. How many of his followers are following his instruction at present? No priest or pope ever washed anyone’s feet or observed the divine commandments. People believe that whatever is written in scriptures is the Commandment of God. But, in fact, every dedicated follower gets this direction. If what is written in scriptures is the only mandate of God then there is no mention in any scripture about the dress code and way of life we are used to. We don’t ride donkeys now as it is mentioned in Bible. The mention of airplanes and of motor vehicles is found only in Indian scriptures. But this is not the real pointer issue. The enlightened sages, by restraining mind only attained the God leading normal way of life in accordance with time and place. This principle is universal. The social systems keep on changing according to the need from time to time. At present Christian brotheren observe sabbath for forty days, with he view to perceiving God. We see them these days engaged in cheating each other to snatch power position and wealth and none following his foot steps.
Influenced by Bhagwan Buddha’s life Jesus Cherist observed fast for forty days like him. according to Valmiki Ramayana, Rawan tried to impress Seeta by his grandiosity wealth and power, but failed. In the life of every enlightened sage such situations are mentioned because the path of yog is one and common for all the experiences and achievements are similar.
The life and mission of Mohammad Sahab started by speaking the truth. His mother had stitched twenty gold coins in the sleeve of his smock. He was traveling in a caravan to his destination. The robbers suddenly attacked and started looting. On searching Mohammad who was just a twelve year boy, found nothing on him. When asked, he told to have twenty gold coins and tore out the sleeves of his smock before them. All were baffled. The leader said had you wished you could have saved these coins. We did not find anything during search. The boy replied that his mother had told him never to tell a lie.
This incident had a great effect on robbers. They threw away their arms and gave up wicked deeds for ever. This truth remained the foundation stone till his last breath. Mohammad Sahab diverted people who were indulged in the sensuous pleasures towards God, and took them from wicked ways to a life of virtues. He asked people to do good deeds so that they do not have to stand with bent head before God on the last day of judgement. He asked them to do good deeds so that they are not consigned to the fires of hell. He asked them to believe in all the messengers of God because though in thousands they are all one. Don’t cause any hurt to any one because every body is the place of prayer of God. make your heart pure and hly so that by his mercy you can perceive him. The way of virtue is the way to heaven. The God who dwell in the seventh sky is watching you and your good and bad actions all the time very carefully. Sacrifice you dearest thing and you life in his path, so that you receive his grace and perceive him. Ibrahim who was the most trusted follower of Mohammad sacrificed on the path of Khuda (God). One day God commanded his most loved Ibrahim in dream, until you sacrifice your dearest possession in my way you will not be delivered. He thought his mind was totally detached from every thing except his only dearest son. He fastened a band round his eyes in dream itself, laid his son and as soon as he lifted the dagger, the angels of the God took away the son and replaced him with a sheep. Since then his followers started the tradition of sacrifice of goat, sheep, camel, cow, ox or a donkey. While the command of God is very clear, that the sacrifice offered in his way must be of one’s dearest thing. Unless one does so, he remains far away from God’s grace.
After Mohhamad Saheb his followers thought Ied and Rosa (Annual fast) as the way to God, and started following it. But, failing to understand the meaning of invaluable words of enlightened sage man can never get the due reward of his actions.
Ied means home coming. we are born in this world again and again depending on our actions we have already taken births in millions of houses, and shall continue to change the house till we get our original home from where this soul has come; from the spiritual ocean of which this soul is only a drop, an integral part, has to return to its spiritual power turning its back on the glamourous pleasures of the material world then only one is one is true rewarded with the fruits of celebrating Ied similarly Rosa (Annual fasts) in Arabic is called siyam which means to stop. So long the goal is not reached one has to continue to walk. Transmigration of body will go on. The God is the destination. On attainment of God this pilgrimage will stop, and with Rosa will also be complete saint Kabir has said the same thing very clearly.
“Sevak ko sadguru mila kachu rahi na tabahi;
kah kabeer nij ghar chalo jahn kaal na jaahi”
Some knowledgeable persons that man is born only once. If there was birth once only than why some person are born rich, some poor; some handsome and beautiful and some ugly. Their should have been a uniformity. One has to take birth to suffer or enjoy the fruits of virtuous and vicious actions. one who has lifted himself from the influence of both his Ied is celebrated, Rosa completed because he has found his real destination.
Whenever any devotee with the help of some accomplished master treads the course of God to save himself from hell, he wages a Zihad against evil thoughts in his mind. These evil thoughts don’t allow him to progress on way to God. The faithful fighting (for zihad) these evil thoughts vanquishes them attains salvation. This was the main message of Mohammad Sahab, that those who could not realize Allah are badly deceived. Allah is one in this creation. Mohammad Sahab was himself one of the chosen ones of Allah. He was so dear to God that he appointed him as his Rasool(apostle) and commanded him to turn all people good or bad of the world towards him. He made innumerable people leave wickedness and violence and take to righteous course of virtue and forgiveness. He made millions of people leave wickedness and violence and take to righteous course of virtue and forgiveness. He made millions of people give up their arms. It is a great misfortune that today these arms are being raised again in his name. The so called intellectuals and rationalists never think that if man becomes cruel following a righteous course of virtue. peace and dharm then how he can be made kind and forgiving.
All religious persons boast of the authenticity of their respective faith. Is there any possibility or reason for such infighting among different religions can a follower of a religion be wicked or cruel? if any religion or faith makes man cruel then who will make man kind, tolerant and forgiving. This is to be thought over by all religions representative and intellectuals.
Aadi Shankaracharya when he was just twelve years old had left home and become a recluse and through constant meditation at the age of eighteen realized God and benefitted the entire humankind. His principal message is if there is any truth it is the God. There is only one way to save oneself from unhappiness and death, which is self realization through constant meditation. If one does not behave so he is no better than animals, even though he has knowledge of all scriptures.
“Satayam Satyam punah satyam harir nameh kevlam”
“Praptesannehite marne nahi nahi rakshati dunkas karne”
“Pashum pasho ko nakaroti dharmah pradhit shastropi na cha aatmabodhah”
Aadi Shankaracharya was born fifteen hundred years after Buddha. By this time the principal teaching so Bhagwan Buddha had started waning and their place was taken by imaginary theories. After thoughtful consideration on these sinister theories kind hearted Shankaracharya propounded the fundamental doctrine of Bhagwan Buddha. The people later on unable to understand this started saying that Shankaracharya has refuted Buddhas’s principle, which is not the fact. He had only voided the sinister imaginary theories gaining currency then and not of Bhagwan Buddhas’s fundamental doctrines. No enlightened sage has ever tried to refute the principles of some other enlightened sage. They have only tried to remove wrong traditions that came in after them in their name. All the enlightened sages had always one and the same message and future, which is possible only with the perception of God. This perception is possible during meditation and in the state of Samadhi (trance). The state of complete restraint fo mind is called meditation or Samadhi (trance). Is this principle denied anytime by any enlightened sage? If any one refutes this than certainly he can never be a well-wisher of mankind.
The main doctrine Aadi Shankaracharya expounded and on this doctrine he defeated in polemics all the learned ritualists of India, and compelled them to accept his doctrine, but today several imaginary theories are propagated in his name. He insisted on and preached mono theism for whole of his life. He never accept any power other than God’s. This is the principle of every enlightened sage of the world. Aadi Shankaracharya said
“Ayam tu parmo dharmah yadhyayogenaatm darshanah”
The perception of God through Yog is the supreme dharm and who does not follow this dharm, despite of his Knowledge of all scriptures, he is worse than animals, because he has nothing with him except pleasures, which are the cause of all unhappiness.
Saint kabir was like all other enlightened sages who had experienced the truth. He meditated upon Ram. The same word Ram, he had received as Mantra (incantation) from Swami Ramanand ji his spiritual master. By Chanting the same name continuously during samadhi (trance) and established in the thoughts of supreme only, like Aadi Shankaracharya ji he uttered spontaneously.
“ Dharti hatu na pag dharu, neer hata na nahaau;
maataa ne nahi janmiya cheer kahan te khaun”
He always said in his discourses.
“Ram na ramasi kavan dand laaga, mari jaiveka karasi abhaagaa”
Describing his own condition he says.-
“Ra or ma ke beech main kabira raha lukay”
“Jeev seeb sab pragte, ve thakur ve daas;
Kbir or jane nahi, ek raam naam ki aas.”
“Raam nam durlabh ati our te nahi kaam;
Aadi ant aru yug-yug ramahi te sangram.”
Kabirdas ji also following the divine directions got free from all woes and attained his real self. He has said.
“Kabir Kutta Ram ka motiya mera nav;
Ram naam ki jevri jit khenche tit janv.”
After every thing becoming so clear, people only by calling themselves Satnami, think themselves as his real followers. He is the son who gets his father’s affection naturally. Otherwise, what connects him with his father.
“Uma kahahu main anubhav apna;
Sat hari bhajan jagat sab sapna”
Truth is the name of supreme. The method to chant that name in breath is given by the spiritual master, so that the Sadhak (seeker) free from all unhappiness may attain God. Saint Kabir like all other enlightened sages stressed on indomitable faith in God. He said-
“Ram Piyara chod kar kare our ka jaap;
veshya kero poot jyon kahe koun ko baap“
Who chants any other name except that of Ram is like a son of a prostitute, who has no father. What can be more lambasting than this? Still his followers continue to say and practise many strange things. This is true with every organized group in the name of some enlightened sage. This confusion is the cause of differences of opinions. Kabir, while delivering a message of everlasting peace and happiness to the whole mankind says-
“Bhajan Bbhagati hari naav hai dooja dukh apaar;
mansa vaacha karmana kabir sumiran saar.”
Meditation and devotion begin with chanting the name of Hari. The only sense in this world is chanting the name of the supreme in thought, action and speech faithfully. Apart from this whatever man does is creation of infinite sorrow. Like saint Kabir saint Goswami Tulsidas has also said-
“Taji vividh karm adharm bahumat shokprad sab tyaghu;
Viswas kar kah daas Tulsi ram pad anuraag hu.”
In this world, varied activities are conducted in the name of noble, emancipatory actions, are sinister and create only unhappiness. Therefore all such activities are to be denounced. In the present time only love in the feet of Ram is the fountain source of happiness. Other than this there is only woe and unhappiness.
“Ram naam jehva jab lo tu na japihe;
tab lo tu kahu jaaye teeno taap tapihe.”
Ah! tongue till you chant the name of Ram with faith, you may take birth anywhere in this world even in the most conducive conditions, you will continue to singe from three kinds of fevers Dahik, Daivik and Bhotik (physical, divine and material). The only panacea to get rid of them is chanting of Ram’s name. By chanting name when the spell of Maya’s(illusion) impact is gone from heart, then-
“Daihik Daivik Bhoutik taapa, ram raaj kahu nahi vyapa.”
Therefore to get rid of all kinds of sorrows one should chant the name of the supreme with perfect faith and devotion. This is the quintessence of life. Goswami Tulsidas ji said he, who meditates upon any one else, he is an animal without horns and tail. Saint Kabir said he is like the son of a prostitute, Mohammad Sahab said he is a kafir (infidel), Yogeswar Krishna called him a Asur (demon). Despite so clear directions why do people chant in the name of different deities.
“Shiv viranchi Vishnu Bhagwana, upjahi jasu ansh te nana.”
The supreme from whom thousands of Brahmas, Vishnus and also Shivas are created and destroyed, such supreme is tamed by his devotee. None, father, mother, wife, son, friend is in our sway but by faith and devotions and chanting of name the sovereign power can be tamed. Yogeshwar Sri Krishna said-
“Ashastra Vihatam ghor tapyante ye tapo janah;
dambhaa hankaara sayankutaa kaam raag balanvita.”
Guru Nanank ji’s message is no different than of any other enlightened sage. He found all enlightened sages of the world as followers of one common course only. That is why in his utterances in ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ thre is a collection of utterances of different enlightened sages.
Guru Nanak ji while telling the means to get rid of sorrow says-
“Sagal Shrashti raja dukhiya, hari kaa naam japat ho sukhiya.”
He gave a great importance to chanting of name.
“Nanaku eke sumiriye jo jal thal rahyo samaay;
Dooja kaahe sumiriye jo janme aru mar jaye.”
All Kinds of people approach saints for their welfare. Once some people went to Guru Nanak ji who were addicts and insisted him to try at the smoking pipe. Guru Nanank Ji said-
“Bhang, Bhasuri, Surapaan utar jaay parbhaat;
Naam khumari Nanka chadi rahat din raat.”
When the hangover of intoxication remains all the time round the clock, the riddance from sorrow is possible. The disorders of the mind are the cause of all unhappiness and in his discourse he explained the identity of a sikkh.
“Sikkha hoke kare karodh, Kanya mool na deve soodh.”
If a Sikh gets angry then even by mistake don’t marry your daughter to him. This means the sikh is one who is far away from disorders like anger. There is only one way to get rid of all disorders, and that is chanting of Om given by the spiritual master and his grace, as a result of offering services.
“Vishu khana Vishu pahan na, vishu ke mukhi graas;
ithee vishai vishu kamakhadna, mueya naraku niwas.”
He, who has conquered all his desires and disorders by chanting Ram nam is the true spiritual mentor. There is no difference Between him and the God.
“Ram naam ur main gayo, so nar mukta janu;
tehi nar hari antar nahi, Naanak saanchi maan.”
“Kaam krodh parse nahi, lobh, moh mad maan;
Naanak sanchi kahat hai so moorakh Bhagwaan.”
Who does not try to be free from disorders, he wanders through different birth forms in this world, suffering and always unhappy. He does not possess anything substantial, which can give him peace and happiness. He has only-
“Sat shri akaal vaah guru je ka khaalsaa;
vahe guru ji ki fatah.”
“Vaahe guru, satnaam”
While all enlightened sages have insisted on chanting of Om or Ram. By this name man can redeem himself from all causes of sorrow. If we don’t respect our holy speech and accept it then what should be our position in his court. This should be seriously thought over.
You must have heard about the great saint Jagjeevan Swami. He was a very popular saint in the north eastern region of India. He was counted among great saints of his times who followed and lived according to the directives of God. When his Yog Sadhana reached its climax, one very strange incident occurred. This incident proved to be emancipator for him, but for his followers it proved to be the cause of degeneration. In the state of trance he was receiving the command of God continuously for three months to marry for emancipation. He thought that this can’t be the command of God. God saves his devotee from hell; frees him from bondage. This can’t be the command of God.
In this confused state three months passed away. Then the God said this is my command and of none else. If you don’t marry then you will have to take one more birth. This is a very strong Sanskaar (impression) and can not be set aside even by meditation. Jaggeevan Swami thought that it is better to concede to the command of God rather then lie in the filth of hell. If there is any filth on body we wash it out at once but to stay in filth for nine months is inconceivable. It is better that I marry and then abandon. This is good idea and way out to obey the command of God and also save me from the tortures of hell. He thought for a long time and said to God that in practicing yog, I have become very weak lean and thin. I am seventy five years old. Who will marry his daughter with such an old and weak person? The God directed saying in a particular village the daughter of Sarpanch (The village chief) will die after three days. She will come back to life on your asking. You put the condition to marry his daughter and obey my command. Jagjeevan Swami did exactly as ordered. He went to that village and sat down in dhyan Samadhi under a margosa tree in the village cemetery. The funeral procession arrived there at the right time. Swami ji’s Samadhi was broken due to nose. Seeing the crowd he asked what is all this? He had totally forgot why he had come there. A gentle man from the crowd told that the most loving daughter of a very wealth person of village who is also Sarpanch (village chief) had expired. He suddenly remembered his master’s command on hearing the news of the death of the girl. He told the gentleman to go and ask if he would give his daughter in marriage to me. The gentleman was embarrassed; at the words of the such an old saint; he does not seem to be a saint. Then he thought that saints are said to posses supernatural powers, the girl after all will be consumed in fire shortly, but if she still survives than the people will witness something impossible. That gentleman told this to one of his close friend. He could not dare speak of this directly to the father of the daughter, because he was a highly respected person. This friend of the village chief told the enlightened sage, look here Baba ji, if the girl does not come alive then you will also be set to fire after her. Mahatma ji flared up at this and asked him to go and tell to her father. In that charged atmosphere of mourning that friend told aggrieved father in a subdued voice. He agreed. Mahatma went near her and hit her with his tongs; chiding her he asked her to get up, why are you sleeping. The girl shortly arose and sat up. Seeing this bewildering sight all who had gathered round Mahatma ji fell apart out of fear for their humiliation of Mahatma. All stood with folded hands started following him. He sat down again under the same Neem (margosa) tree. As per condition the girl was married. Her younger sister also lived with her and served them. After some time the father of the girl constructed a house for them outside the village. Swami ji is Sadhana (yog practice) continued progressively. After some time he got a child on the same day God told him in a communication that his Sadhana (spiritual endeavour) is complete now. On the same day he left that place fulfilled with contentment. On fifteenth day the God said that he was emancipated and had become free from all bondages. With this pronouncement he felt very happy. Now his Sadhana had come to an end. But, later or his disciples started marrying. In case of Swami ji it was the command of God himself and it was programmed and managed by him. Failure to understand this secret of sadhana and getting entangled in the ways of the world, after Swami ji there has been no enlightened sage so far in his disciples. Likewise trying to imitate their enlightened sages the followers of defferent organizations are taken away from their principles. They fail to follow the principles of their enlightened sages.
Through chanting name Saint Meera also with indomitable faith and total surrunder to the suprem attained the same state which all enlightened sages attained.
The most revered Gurudev Paramhans ji Maharaj on receiving the divine dictate through prophecy, learning Sadhana (Yog process) left home and applied himself with immovable faith. With in very short time the adorable began to direct him because of earlier Sanskaar (accumulated impressions). Progressing under the instructions of adorable he was firmly established in meditation. He used to emphsise one thing that with renunciation, sacrifice, love meditation of God all the time, alone can redeem one from sorrow and from transmigration. Without following this progression no one can get rid of unhappiness. Revered Gurudev Bhagwan also says the same thing, that a man wherever he is born and whoever he may be if with total dedication to the supreme becomes an instrument of Sadguru (spiritual master) then even if he be an illiterate or a fool can become the most learned and Knowledgeable like Jad Bharat and Kaagbhusund ji, and become his loving devotee.
All enlightened sages of the world irrespective of their lands of birth have regarded the attainment of the supreme as the only means to rid of sorrow and said that indulgence in material pleasures of the world, which may be even more alluring than even the pleasures of heaven are the cause of unhappiness. No enlightened sage ever supported to enjoy sensuous pleasures. If they had done so they could not have set an ideal example and become altruistic because everything, power, position and wealth are perishable.On their destruction and separation, sorrow is natural. Both one who leads and follows the path of unhappiness can ever be a well wisher? This was the reason that the first Tirthankar Bhagwan Rishabdev inspired all of his hundred sons to take the path that leads to God, and addressing all his well-wishers said that master is no spiritual master, that father is not the father that mother is not mother, brother no brother and relations are no relations who can not save you from the approaching death.
“Gururnas syatswa jano na sa syaat,
Pita na sa syatswajani na sa syaat,
Daiv na tasyann patisch sa swashn,
mochyedhyah samupet mratum.” (Bhagwat Mahapuran Skandh 5/5/18)
The same thing was said by the people of Ayodhaya.
“Jarai so sampati sadan sukh suhrad matu pitu bhai;
hot ram pad sanmukh sahas na karai shaai.”
All enlightened sages have a common goal, the attainment of the supreme. They have one common aim to show with loving kindness the path of happiness and peace to the entire mankind. But unable to understand the aim of their great achievement and to remain ahead in this rat race of sensuous pleasures, these imaginary principles and theories came into existence. These man made imaginary principles created enmity and became the main cause of occasional tensions and conflicts.
All enlightened sages of the world have agreed upon unanimously on one thing that by Yog Sadhana received from Sadguru practiced with absolute concentration of mind, God starts communicating with his devotee and guides him in attaining his destination. The result of all material pleasures is sorrow and the attainment of God is the only purpose to achieve everlasting peace and happiness. That is why the sovereign emperor Ashok asked his only son and daughter to relinquish every thing and become ascetics, and became an ascetic himself. All enlightened sages of the world are unanimous about the way to everlasting emancipation. All enlightened sages are of the opinion that attachment of material pleasures is the cause of all sorrow and the attainment of God is the cause of happiness. The attainment of God is possible only after restraining mind with all its dispositions. Every enlightened sage tried to unite the scattered contemporary society in accordance with the prevailing rules customs and system with the passage of time these rules and customs began to be regarded as dharma(religion). This was never the intention of enlightened sages. What they thought of making man but he became just different. This is really painful and astonishing for them and their true devotees. The enlightened sages always desired to take all on way to their upliftment but actually they are all advancing in the reverse direction of decay and degeneration . The enlightened sages wanted to see everyone happy but instead all are engaged in hoarding knick-knacks of sorrow and tears.
“Kya banane aaye the ham kya bana baithe,
kahin mandir bana baithe, kahi masjid bana baithe;
parindo main firka parasti nahi hoti,
kabhi masjid par jaa baithe, kabhi Mandir par jaa baithe.
”
